What's it all about then?
Talks & Lectures is a self-initiated and financed project by web design and development company Talking Pixels. The concept is simple - we wanted to build a web site which provides a comprehensive, up-to-date and highly searchable listing of the large number talks and lectures happening in the London area. Until now, finding out about these events involved trawling the large number of organisers' sites. No fun.
This site is the beginning of turning that concept into a reality. Four weeks in, we have a bare-bones site just waiting to be fed more events and to be tickled by a steady stream of users.
What's the bigger picture?
Like many others, we recognised the web's amazing potential for democratising information. However, with this has come a relentless overload of information. It can be exhausting to find what you're looking for. We want to relieve a little of that stress. We also have a passion for life-long-learning. This site attempts to bring those two idea together.
What's the catch?
There's no catch. We are hopeful that this resource will always be free to use. If you find the site useful and like what we are doing, a small donation to help us develop the site further would give us a big smile.
