Café Scientifique - Do we need friends?

Many animals, including humans, form bonds within their communities, but what benefits do having friends bring to us? Join Professor Neil Macrae to discuss the psychological benefits of socialising, and why we seek out friendships.

Café Scientifique events aim to provide a forum for the discussion of scientific ideas. Free and open for all to attend, join scientists and other specialists to explore current issues in science over a drink. Audience participation is strongly encouraged.

This event is free to attend, doors will open at 5.45pm and admission will be on a first come, first served basis.
